History

Dalemead Church began in 1904 as part of the Methodist Church. The first minister, Fraser, a young student minister, led a small congregation of some ranch hands and a few neighbours, preaching in a local log home, between the kitchen and the dining room. It wasn’t until 1908 that a local school was built and Dalemead Church began to have its services there. The new minister, Rev. Barry, came from Langdon on horseback, staying the night before the service in the homes of congregants. Without phones, no one knew when he would arrive or where he would stay.
